Santa Cruz

Oops! I had a little trouble uploading the pictures on this post. This one should be the last picture. Anyway, Katie single-handedly took care of the children's lesson while I was busy seeing patients. And she did a great job!

Yesterday (Tuesday) we drove a few hours away to the town of Santa Cruz and worked with the Church there.

Eddie began things by preaching a lesson. I couldn't understand a word he was saying because he was speaking in the Filipino language. But you can see from the picture that he's in his element.

I worked with another doctor and a nurse for about 2 hours and saw patients. I'd triage them, then send them over to the doctor to get their prescription. Nothing too exciting, but the main thing is that we were helping them and hopefully encouraging some of them to come to Church here. The main problems for the adults were diabetes and high blood pressure; for the kids - seasonal coughs.

We gave out portions of rice, noodles, and canned sardines to those with need.
